2 Day Craft Retreat - Flower pounding and mixed media

Spend a day learning to print with flowers and leaves, and a day enhancing your creations with stitch and mixed media. All meals and materials are included - just bring yourselves! The weekend will be friendly and relaxed. Come and meet new people and share in crafty goodness!

Hill Top Haven is based in the middle of North Pennines, and is surrounded by hills, moorland and sheep. Hill Top Haven has a large terrace where you can soak up the rays (when we have them), and listen to the lapwingsw and curlews and sheep. A walk in the local countryside will inspire your art pieces.

We will spend the first day 'printing' fabric with flowers and leaves - by pounding them onto fabric! On the second day we use our dyed fabrics to create a nature scene, adding to our creations with a range of stitches, ribbon, buttons, and a wide variety of threads. 

By hand stitching, we not only learn and practice techniques that can be as easy or complicated as you like - but it is also a form of slow stitch, where we can relax.

All materials are provided, including a wide range of fabrics, threads and needles - as well as decorating accoutrements - buttons/ribbons/bit and bobs.

Our creations are fuelled by healthy meals, topped with tea and cake to keep us going :-)

In the evening there's an opportunity for fun relaxation with wine and chocolate tasting (tailored to any dietary requirements)!

Arrival is 11am on the Saturday, and departure 4pm on the Sunday- giving you as full days as possible with time to arrive and get home!

Spaces are limited to 6 - and we have three rooms available. If you would like to attend, and we are fully booked, we can help you find alternative accommodation, locally. 

We have one room in the main house that can be booked as a twin - so you share the cost of the room. If you'd like this, please contact me.

We also have two rooms in our Annex (one single and one double) - which share a bathroom, but have access to an open plan, upstairs diner/kitchen/living room with wood burner and balcony. 

Reserving your spot via this 'ticketed' event requires you to pay in full on booking. 

However, if you'd like to pay in instalments, please contact me. 

Your place can be reserved with a 50% deposit, with the balance payable 4 weeks before the start of the event. 

Groups are welcome. Please do contact me. Groups of 4 or more get a 5% discount.
