About Being Ewe

Welcome to Being Ewe!

Being Ewe is a website dedicated to encouraging you in a more arty, crafty and generally creative life, improving your wellbeing along the way.

My name is Beverley and I'm married with two feline fur babies and a hankering for alpacas. I have always been creative in one way or another, despite being an accountant for over 20 years. I've grown up with parents, grandparents and siblings who can bake or make anything. I have seen how being creative brings people together and leads to a sense of purpose and peace.

Previously, in my life as an accountant, there were often times of immense hard work, long hours and significant stress. During these times I ignored my creative outlets and subsequently experienced wellbeing difficulties of low moods and anxiety.

I have learned, the hard way, just how much a creative outlet can improve your mental health and wellbeing and how you can find peace in playing an instrument or drawing a picture, in felting your favourite animal or embroidering a present.
I take particular pleasure in learning new skills and am always willing and happy to try something new.
I love being creative in a group, as there is something timelessly supportive about learning and laughing together.

Because of this, my vision is to provide a way of helping others in their journey to a happier and more creative life.

I now work as a creative and wellbeing coach and mindfulness teacher, and am a huge advocate for taking time for yourself and slowing down - and I say this from years of NOT doing so!

I have been running creative workshops since May 2020, predominantly in stitching, textiles and multi-media.

There is often a wellbeing element to my work - in that stitching or any other creative task, by their very nature, are meditative and completive. However, many of the workshops are kept very simple - learn a new skill in a friendly, relaxed and supportive environment.

In addition to the workshops,  I  offer kits that you can purchase to create in your own time, and will be adding more to these over time. I will also be combining creativity with my other favourite hobby - travelling - to do a series of (predominently) stitches from around the world.

At the end of 2020, my husband, pets and I moved to a remote old farmhouse in the North Pennines. I like to think I bring a small part of this landscape into each workshop, and into each piece I create.

You may be someone who is on a similar path; you may be someone who needs creative inspiration or who feels down and is looking for a remedy; you may be a creative or healthcare professional or just someone who enjoys pretty pictures :-)

Whoever you are, you are unique and special, you are welcome, and I would love to hear from you.
